Fashion studio production assistant internship

Role Description

Throughout the internship you will gain exposure to this niche environment. You will be able to explore and experience key aspects of a production in a boutique design label. You will be supporting the JPoL team in the production of garments. Key tasks will include;
  • Cut and preparation of garments for sewing,
  • Drafting patterns,
  • Garment finishing,
  • Assist in development of new designs.

Skills and knowledge

This role will suit a candidate who wishes to develop their existing garment production knowledge. You will gain experience in production and manufacture but the post-holder must have basic manufacture experience or understanding.

Work environment

You will work mainly in the studio in south east London with Jed and her team. Throughout the internship there may be project opportunities, which may require you to travel to specific locations.

The internship is unpaid, but reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

You will be supervised and supported by Jed Phoenix directly. Jed is a former Princes Trust Mentor and will work with you to develop a learning plan. This will balance the requirements of the busy environment and your development expectations.


The intern will be ordinarily expected to be available for 30 hours a week. These will usually be Monday to Friday. Intern opportunities will usually be a period of three months. Longer or shorter opportunities may be available by agreement.
